Volunteers are an important and valued part of [ORGANISATION]. We are pleased that you have decided to voluntarily commit to us. We will do our best to make your volunteer experience enjoyable and rewarding. Our goal is to be flexible and supportive. We believe that the voluntary relationship is based on trust and mutual understanding. Organizations should be aware of the risk of an accidental employment contract with volunteers. However, this risk can be minimized by the best practices described below: the charity wishes to use this agreement (instead of the long form agreement of volunteers that accompanies it in this sub-file) when the charity is quite small and few volunteers spend relatively little time each month/week on voluntary activities, or when charities prefer to use as short a deal as possible. Regardless of the volunteer`s commitment, the charity must, where possible, ensure that the volunteer does not become a collaborator of the charity. In this context, it is important that it does not provide actual payment or benefits to the volunteer beyond the reimbursement of its expenses and that it engages the volunteer only by a written agreement. The agreement (which is a form of guidance and not a contract) should define what the charity and volunteers expect from each other and should be drafted in such a way as to minimize the risk of it being an employment contract. The agreement was developed to meet these requirements. This short Charity Volunteer`s Agreement is suitable for the use by a charitable organization (or other non-profit organization) that hires a volunteer to assist in one of its activities, including fundraising, administration, charitable services or other day-to-day activities of the charity on its behalf, whether volunteers work occasionally or regularly at the charity.
